Sensory Integration

Sensory integration is the neurological process that organizes sensory inputs from the body and the environment to enable effective use of the body in the environment.
The theory of sensory integration was proposed by American occupational therapist A. Jean Ayres in 1960; this intervention model suggests addressing and treating deficits in the sensory integration process that affect children’s learning.
The intervention is conducted through play, using specific therapeutic equipment, in a space that is adapted and safe for the child. The goal of rehabilitation is to directly address difficulties (sensory modulation disorders) that impact the child’s behavior and interfere with their learning during development.
In this section, you will find our specialized equipment for your sensory integration rehabilitation sessions.
