Laterality
When a child begins various learning activities, the question of their handedness inevitably arises. Are they right-handed or left-handed? Handedness influences the child’s manual and motor skills as well as their autonomy.
The lateralization process then plays a crucial role in the child’s development, allowing them to acquire a good perception of their body and manipulate objects. As an occupational therapist, you likely work with patients who have lateralization difficulties.
